Acute Angle
Acute Angle is a map designed for the Gem Grab event, featuring shifting walls arranged in geometric formations. Each team has a lake near them, with walls facing opposite sides of the map. In the center, there are four clusters of walls and bushes arranged in a rough pinwheel shape. The map is diagonally symmetrical.
Here are some tips for playing on this map: Sharpshooters and throwers should take advantage of walls and bushes to hide and avoid enemy attacks. They can also consider destroying the enemy team's cover if it benefits their strategy. While the map is relatively open, there are clusters of walls that can make aiming shots challenging. It's beneficial to have Brawlers on your team who can destroy walls, such as Colt, Brock, and Piper, among others.
Assassins and heavyweights can utilize the bushes on the opposing side to hide and surprise enemies approaching the Gem mine. It's wise to switch bushes if the enemy starts to notice a pattern and takes an alternate lane. The walls near the lakes offer the most protection when your team is counting down.
The left and right lanes provide more open space compared to the center lane. The right lane also offers a wall that medium-ranged Brawlers can use to their advantage. Long-ranged Brawlers like Piper and Brock excel on this map due to the open spaces, allowing them to control the center. Their wide area of effect can push back dangerous enemies and secure crucial kills from a safe distance. Piper, utilizing her Ambush Star Power, can hold the side lane bushes near the center to support her teammate and secure that lane. Brock's Incendiary Star Power can limit enemy movement and block key choke points, providing allies with advantageous positions. Support Brawlers like 8-Bit and Pam can place their turrets behind walls to provide sustained support to the team. Additionally, Penny can position her mortar behind walls, dealing constant long-range damage and benefiting from her Balls of Fire Star Power and Captain's Compass Gadget when needed by herself or her allies.
